Color Blocking

This recent fashion fad is bold and exciting to play around with. But what exactly is color blocking? Well, let me tell you, color blocking is a brilliant way to mix up your wardrobe to add a little pop of color.

To be a little more clear, color blocking is taking two opposite colors and sticking them together in a daring way-and some how these colors magically seem to work together. So for an example, black and white is the most common color block. These two colors are on opposite sides of the color spectrum.

When I was reading a recent magazine and came across the idea of color blocking, I knew I had the perfect dress for the trend-purple and turquoise. You normally don’t see these two colors together, but this dress makes it look like they were made to be with each other. I bought this magnificent dress in London a few years back at Top Shop, so sadly it’s a little difficult to find past season dresses online. But I have found a similar fit/style here. I paired this dress with nude wedges from Zara (which are now on sale for only $20!). So try color blocking with your next outfit and add a little pop to your life! I promise you will get tons of compliments and looks.
