Stripes can be difficult to wear sometimes. Unfortunately, the pattern can be a bit unflattering at times and make you look larger then you actually are. But I braved it out and decided to wear a comfortable striped Vince sweater to the America’s Cup in the city-I can call myself a sailor now, right? Anyways, my family and I got the chance to head up to the city on Sunday and watch some of the boats race. These boats are very exciting to watch and something that you definitely have to see at least once if you live in or around San Francisco. It only goes until early September so if you haven’t seen them yet, I suggest that you do!
We decided to head up for lunch and grab something yummy in the Marina (we had a delicious brunch at Ristobar), then continued to walk down to the water. It was such a pleasant and warm day in the city (yes once we got down to the water the wind started to pick up), but nonetheless it was a beautiful summer day in San Francisco. After watching these boats go back and forth, we decided to take a walk to the Palace of Fine Arts since none of us have never been there before. What a perfect location for a photo-shoot, right?
This outfit is my interpretation of a “chic sailor”. Instead of wearing the traditional white and navy stripes, I went with a more comfortable black and white stripe. Along with this cozy sweater that was making me sweat (isn’t San Fran supposed to be cold?), I wore my light brown rolled up trousers and comfortable sandals-I was prepared for lots of walking! Oh, can’t forget about my gold accessories too! I wore a chunky gold necklace, my Michael Khors watch, and some bangles to balance out my outfit. At last! We have to talk about my new purse that I am absolutely in love with! I purchased this purse at H&M for $50! Such a great steal. I love how structured the purse is-almost like a Prada bag. BTW don’t my striped sunglasses go perfect with this sweater? I was quite excited about the relationship-hehe!
What did you do this weekend? Anything exciting?
